1. About this policy

1.1. This policy explains what Linalux stores in your browser and which outside services your browser connects to when you use linalux.app.

1.2. Linalux is a subscription-based digital service. It provides personal insight and interpretation content generated by artificial intelligence.

1.3. Linalux content is provided for entertainment and personal reflection only. It is not medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. Content is generated by artificial intelligence and its accuracy is not guaranteed. For health, legal, or financial matters, consult a qualified professional.

2. Summary

2.1. Linalux does not use HTTP cookies. Instead, we store a small amount of information in your browser's local storage and session storage.

2.2. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies or similar technologies. We do not use third-party analytics tools, and we do not track you across other websites.

2.3. We do not store anything in your browser for analytics. Our own product analytics use a temporary identifier that is held only in the page's memory while the page is open. It is not written to your device and disappears when you leave or reload the page.

3. Why this policy covers local storage

3.1. EU rules (the ePrivacy Directive) and UK rules (PECR) apply to any storage of information on your device, not only to cookies. So we treat local storage and session storage in the same way as cookies. This policy calls them "similar technologies."

3.2. Local storage keeps information until you clear it. Session storage keeps information only until you close the browser tab.

5. What the categories mean

5.1. Strictly necessary items are required for the Service to work. For example, without the session token you cannot stay signed in.

5.2. Functional items remember choices you make and support features you actively use, such as your text size or the birth details you entered within a feature flow.

5.3. No analytics storage. None of the items above is used for analytics. Our own product analytics record which feature and which step you reached, not what you write, using the temporary in-memory identifier described in Section 2.3. They are not shared with third-party analytics or advertising services.

6. Outside services your browser connects to

6.1. When you use Linalux, your browser connects to the following providers:

  • Cloudflare, which hosts the website, serves some code libraries (cdnjs), and runs Turnstile bot verification on the sign-in, registration, and account pages;
  • jsDelivr, which serves some code libraries used on our pages;
  • Google, when you use Palm Reading, to download the hand recognition model that runs on your device (your photo is not sent in this step); and
  • OpenStreetMap (Nominatim), when you search for your birth city (the city name you type is sent).

6.2. Each of these connections means the provider receives your IP address and browser information. We do not use these providers for advertising or tracking.

7. Consent

7.1. Strictly necessary storage does not require your consent.

7.2. Functional items are stored only when you use the features they support, and only to provide those features. If you are not signed in, a consent you give in a consent box is kept only in the page's memory and is not stored in your browser.

7.3. Because we do not store anything in your browser for analytics, advertising, or tracking, we do not show a consent banner.

8. How to control or clear stored information

8.1. You can clear Linalux's stored information at any time through your browser's settings, usually under "site data" or "clear browsing data." You can also block site storage for linalux.app. Private or incognito windows clear this information when you close them.

8.2. If you clear or block stored information:

  • you will be signed out;
  • your currency and text size preferences will be reset; and
  • some feature flows may be interrupted.

8.3. If you block storage completely, you will not be able to sign in.

9. Changes to this policy

9.1. We may update this policy when we change what we store. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date.
